CS. John Oscar Juma Appointed as Busia County Secretary

John Oscar Juma, a well-respected lawyer and public servant from Matayos Constituency in Busia County, has been approved by the Busia County Assembly to become the new County Secretary and Head of Public Service. His swearing-in is set for July 2025.
Mr. Juma began his education at the Starehe Boys’ Centre and later studied law at the University of Nairobi. He is a certified advocate of the High Court of Kenya and has worked in many legal and public roles, including Commissioner for Oaths, Notary Public, and legal advisor to government and private organizations.
Over the years, he has served in leadership roles such as:
• Chairman of the Kenya School of Law Council
• Board Member and Trustee of LSK (Law Society of Kenya)
• Deputy County Secretary in Busia
He is known for promoting good governance, ethical leadership, and development. His appointment reflects his commitment to public service and high professional standards.
Colleagues describe him as a quiet but effective leader. Expectations are high for his new role, where he aims to bring integrity and strategic progress to Busia County.
