Career Day: Inspiring Futures, Shaping Dreams

This year’s Career Day at Starehe was a vibrant and eye-opening event, bringing together students, teachers, and a wide range of professionals from fields such as medicine, engineering, finance, law, education, and entrepreneurship. The day provided learners with an invaluable opportunity to explore possible career paths, ask questions, and gain insights into the skills and mindset needed to thrive in today’s dynamic world.

A highlight of the day was the keynote speech delivered by a representative from ABSA Bank, who emphasized the importance of financial literacy, innovation, and adaptability in today’s rapidly changing economy. The speaker encouraged students to embrace discipline and integrity as foundations for success, while also reminding them that resilience and creativity are vital tools for navigating the challenges of the future.

Other guest speakers shared their personal journeys — highlighting both their successes and the challenges they overcame along the way. They reminded students that while academic excellence is important, passion, perseverance, and discipline are equally vital in building meaningful careers.

The interactive sessions sparked curiosity, with students eagerly engaging in discussions about future opportunities, emerging industries, and the importance of continuous learning. Career Day not only expanded their horizons but also encouraged them to dream big and plan strategically for the future.

By the end of the day, the message was clear: with hard work, focus, and the right guidance, every Starehe student has the potential to shape their own path and leave a mark in the world.
